Dubbed the “New Napa Valley,” the famed Highway 290 Texas wine trail is a great way to spend a day wine tasting with over 50 wineries to choose from and counting. Live music can be found seven days a week in the popular main street shopping corridor. You won’t want to miss the annual Oktoberfest!
Dripping Springs - 40 minutes
The Dripping Springs area is rich in wonderful attractions. Set at the threshold of the Texas Hill Country, Dripping Springs has an altitude of 550 feet (MSL), and is only minutes from Austin and Johnson City. The landscape is characterized by steppe prairies with sweeping views of rolling hills, and towering Live Oak woodlands.

Both ranked among the fastest growing cities in America, the short scenic highway commute to Austin and San Antonio is a welcomed drive for residents living in the Hill Country region.  In fact, the hour drivetime is comparable to the time it would take to navigate from one end of the city to the other during rush hour. It’s nice to have big city conveniences close by without the traffic headache and stress.
New Braunfels / San Marcos - 1 hour
With German names on the street signs, summer bier gardens and the annual Wurstfest, New Braunfels blends the character of its German namesake with the charm and beauty of Texas Hill Country. Old World heritage is abundant in the Historic District of Gruene, featuring the ruins of the original Gristmill and live music at the Gruene Hall. Those in search of more modern fun can check out the Schlitterbahn waterpark, spelunk in the Natural Bridge Caverns or test the waters at Canyon Lake.

**Update**

8-30-19... TxDOT has initiated construction on a traffic signal along HWY 281, at the intersection of Shovel Mountain Road/Old Marble Falls Road.  Residents will soon be able to turn left on Old Marble Falls Rd. at the light and go into the rear gated entrance for Trinity Oaks Preserve.
